Body by Fisher 1949 Service & Construction Manual - Buick Riviera 76R, Cadillac Coupe De Ville, Oldsmobile Holiday

8-1/2" x 11".  58 pages.  Black & White.  Well-illustrated with drawings and detailed photographs.  The Fisher Body Special Sport Coupe (Buick Riviera Model 76R, Cadillac Coupe De Ville and Oldsmobile Holiday) as described in this manual was a new body style introduced late into the 1949 line of Fisher Bodies for Cadillac, Buick, and Oldsmobile. The description of the contents and purpose of this manual appears on page #1 as follows: "The construction of this body in many respects is similar to the convertible coupe, particularly the lower body area. The general formation of the metal panels along this area and the construction and installation of trim parts, including cushion springs, as well as the installation of hardware parts, is also similar. The roof construction of the Special Sport Coupe, however, is entirely new and consists of a complete roof panel steel stamping, which is particularly designed to allow more window visibility. The back window area of the roof is extremely large, allowing for installation of a curved back window assembly, which extends into the side quarter of the roof. A new departure in the interior roof construction is the installation of exposed roof bows, which are assembled to the side roof rails after the headlining has been installed. The short rear body lock pillars extend from the floor to the body belt line only and the rear quarter. Windows pivot down into the rear quarter assembly similar to convertible coupes. Both door windows, rear quarter windows, as well as the front seat, are operated by Hydro-Lectric push-button control. This manual covers only the construction and removal and installation of parts in the Special Sport Coupe. For a detailed description of the Hydro-Lectric System, refer to the previously issued standard Fisher Body Service Manuals."
