Buick Special - Complete Announcement Materials, Equipment and Novelties

A cover letter to all Buick dealers from the Buick Motor Division dated June 24, 1949 described the contents of this brochure as follows: "Attractive and eye-arresting showroom decorations and other sales aids illustrated in the attached brochure will help make your announcement of the new Buick Special a success."  Although for the first time since World War II, Buick had all-new body styles for 1949, surprisingly, the Special series cars remained unchanged.  But on August 8, 1949, Buick introduced an all-new 1949 Special, foreshadowing what was to come for the 1950 line.  For the coming introduction of the new Special, Buick wanted to help their dealers make a big splash with promotional sales aids.  Depicted in this brochure are 1949 invitations, dealer-showroom and building banners, pennants, event lighting equipment, showroom equipment, hanging decorations and various 1949 automobile accessories, all made available to Buick dealers to be prepared on announcement day of the Special.  16 color pages, 8-1/2" x 11".  Includes Buick Motor Division cover letter, shipping envelope and order forms.  If you own or have an interest in 1949 Buicks, you will enjoy this very well-illustrated, interesting and exceedingly rare Buick marketing brochure!
